Online Advertising Network Chitika has revealed that smartphone web traffic in the UK is dominated by the iPhone.
According to the network, “To quantify this study, Chitika Insights analyzed millions of UK smartphone-based online ad impressions generated within the Chitika Ad Network from June 16 through 22, 2014. The historical data were drawn from impressions observed from January 22 through 28, 2014. The results were then graphed alongside each other for comparative purposes.”
This data reveals that as of June of this year, 48.9% of UK smartphone owners accessed the web with their Apple iPhones. Although iPhones dominate smartphone web traffic in the UK, it is down from 49.7% back in January.
Samsung is in second place at 22.8%, which is up from 21.4% back in January. BlackBerry is at third place at 15%, which is down form 16.8%. In fourth place is HTC at 3.1% (up from 3%). In fifth place is Nokia at 2.5% (down from 2.8%). In sixth place is Sony at 2.4% (up from 1.8%). In seventh place are Google Nexus smartphones at 1.1% (up from 0.7%). At eighth place is Motorola at 0.9% (up from 0.5%). Everything else is still at 3.3% (3.3% back in January.
